On any given day, Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) accepts dozens of dogs and cats in need of a home. The responsible use of animals for human purposes, such as companionship, food, fiber, recreation, work, education, exhibition, and research conducted for the benefit of both humans and animals, is consistent with the Veterinarian’s Oath. San Francisco Animal Care & Control keeps our community safe and protects all animals from abuse, neglect, and cruelty. SFACC is the City’s only open admission shelter; we accept all animals regardless of temperament, medical condition, or species.

Others will do best on very large properties, or where they have lots of room to romp and play, and many pets fall somewhere in the middle.
